I think we’re going to get a lot of fantastic content options for mobile devices in 2010, even if you don’t pony up for an iPad. While the iPad will likely be a raging success, it’ll also help generate a market for alternatives. The question is, can we credit — or blame — the iPad for generating all this mobile action? Maybe not the iPad alone, but it’s certainly the latest catalyst.

Wow, I’m seeing a lot of negative commentary on the new Apple iPad tablet from pundits all around the Web. People are already shouting that this will be a flop and that Apple have dropped the ball this time. A lot of criticisms: no USB, no multitasking, low memory, no Flash support, no camera, no full OS, and so on and on. Everyone seems to be missing the point completely.

Unless you on a deserted island somewhere, you heard yesterday about Apple’s newest technological advancement: the iPad. Very thoughtful article about the influince the iPad is going to have on us, (web)designers.
The iPad has received mixed reviews. While the geeks (people like you and me) have looked at it with disdain for being “just” what we expected, the media publishing industry (read print media) has seen it as the salvation they had been waiting for. Whether the iPad is able to change the world or not, is not the issue of this article. But the fact of the matter is that it is here and sooner or later we need to learn to design the web keeping it in our minds. So what are the things we need to consider?
